A Different World

To say that we live in a different world is a glaringly obvious statement. One year ago today was much different than now, and 2 years from now is far different than today. That almost seems like the natural thing to assume, but the differences I am speaking of aren’t those of a natural evolution of time. But they are those of a spiritual appointment. They are those of a divine collision on the course of existence as we know it.

If it isn’t clear to anyone by now, Jesus is coming soon. I know, people have been saying that for years but it is the truth. We are closer now than ever.

The time is 11:59 P.M.

Our prices are soaring. Our world is on the brink of war, with many wars happening as I type this. The natural disasters are aloft. Hurricanes, earthquakes, tsunamis, tornadoes, etc. If you are a Christian you are looked down on. The only thing racist is white people. We literally have school districts in our country that consequences of offenses are based on color. Every person has a right but a white Christian. Our religion doesn’t have any rights, our people have no say. We are put down and looked down on because of our beliefs and our color.

Justice isn’t even a word anymore. The system is for the criminal. Our police have no say, but yet they do? The judges and courts do not care about anyone’s lives, its all about written law, sometimes. Men are women and women are men. There are more than 2 genders. People prefer different pronouns. It’s spiraling out of control faster than a black man smacking another black man on national television over one making fun of his bald wife. But yet, the whites are the bad ones.

Disney and Nickelodeon play LBGTQLMNOP everything for children as young as 1. Gay this and gay that. Sex this and sex that. Sex education and masturbation training for toddlers. I wish this was made up. It sounds like a horrendous nightmare. But God has a bride.

You can see churches who once stood for Truth, for holiness, for baptism in Jesus Name, changing to charismatic neo-Pentecostal churches that want the fire with out the sacrifice. And when they go, they blame everyone else and leave a complete trail blazing in fire that reconciliation would seem almost inappropriate to consider.

Small businesses are harassed by the masses because some how, somewhere in this “pandemic” people lost their decency. Homelessness is on the rise. There is still a portion of Seattle that is occupied by the lawless people who helped burn down half of our country. Pastors were taken to jail for having church and exercising their freedoms as an American, while people burned down major cities without recompense. No one was MADE to go to church. Why would going to church be worse than burning down cities and killing people? Because good is evil a and evil is good now.

We have Christian’s who believe they can be a witch and still be blessed by God. Open a Bible once in a while.

The mainstream “Apostolic” church doesn’t preach holiness, doesn’t talk about any sin, and wants the lights and show to impress so our differences won’t scare off people from coming to church. Yeah, tricking people will do it, those people will be solid in their faith.

There are men standing in the pulpit grooming young girls. Men taking pictures of themselves in the Holy desk of God, while their own father, and pastor, defends them, while they “investigate.” My God.

But their is still a people who are holy and devoted to God. Their still is a people who desire revival and aren’t afraid to live hard for God and hold on in this sick and evil day we live in.

There is every right for a person who wants to rearrange their body parts in the name of equality, but a person who wants to go to church, they will put you on house arrest and rip your Bible out of your hand like you’re holding a brick of methamphetamines. It’s sick and people should be ashamed.

“so that at the name of Jesus every knee should bow, in heaven and on earth and under the earth,”

Philippians 2:10

You won’t be able to escape it.

“And Jesus answered them, “See that no one leads you astray. For many will come in my name, saying, ‘I am the Christ,’ and they will lead many astray. And you will hear of wars and rumors of wars. See that you are not alarmed, for this must take place, but the end is not yet. For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom, and there will be famines and earthquakes in various places. All these are but the beginning of the birth pains. “Then they will deliver you up to tribulation and put you to death, and you will be hated by all nations for my name’s sake. And then many will fall away and betray one another and hate one another. And many false prophets will arise and lead many astray. And because lawlessness will be increased, the love of many will grow cold. But the one who endures to the end will be saved. And this gospel of the kingdom will be proclaimed throughout the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”

Matthew 24:4-14

“While people are saying, “There is peace and security,” then sudden destruction will come upon them as labor pains come upon a pregnant woman, and they will not escape. But you are not in darkness, brothers, for that day to surprise you like a thief. For you are all children of light, children of the day. We are not of the night or of the darkness. So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation. For God has not destined us for wrath, but to obtain salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us so that whether we are awake or asleep we might live with him. Therefore encourage one another and build one another up, just as you are doing.”

What isn’t trendy

I love our church. We do not have the best of everything. We don’t have a drummer. We don’t have colored lights and we may mess up a song. But one thing we do have is the presence of God. It’s amazing. You never know what you’ve been missing until you experience it again for the first time in a long time. We were so hindered by another’s inadequacies and now we have freedom. Freedom to live for God in Truth and not be ashamed or defensive. Or controlled. God is so good to us.

Be ye holy…

“Wherefore gird up the loins of your mind, be sober, and hope to the end for the grace that is to be brought unto you at the revelation of Jesus Christ; as obedient children, not fashioning yourselves according to the former lusts in your ignorance: but as he which hath called you is holy, so be ye holy in all manner of conversation; because it is written, Be ye holy; for I am holy.”

I Peter 1:13-16 KJV

Being holy is a conscious decision. It’s not something that is done in us, it is something we make a decision to be. The word holy in the Greek translates to: sacred (physically, pure, morally blameless or religious, ceremonially, consecrated).

A word that is synonymous with holy would be righteous. We can try to be holy by our own righteousness, which the Word says is filthy rags. This would be self righteousness, or righteousness according to me. I tell my youth that righteousness means ‘right living.’ Self righteousness would be ‘right living according to me.” But we have to live righteous according what His word says. It tells that those who hunger and thirst for righteousness shall be filled. It’s amazing how many so called Apostolic’s will be so self righteous towards someone hungering and thirsting after righteousness. But that isn’t the point of this.

If you want to look, act, talk, mingle, and live exactly like the world, that is your prerogative. But when you come to someone that is hungering and thirsting after righteousness and you call them a Pharisee or a legalistic person, you are just as bad as the accusation you just hurled. Just because some lives for God “harder” “more conservatively” or “stricter,” be careful not to judge a person because of your preconceived ideas, or more rightly so, the conviction of God. I would be more worried about someone slipping than i would someone hungering and thirsting after the things of God, after right living, and righteousness.

We are commanded through out scripture to be ye holy 3 times. It commands us multiple times to be separated, and the idea of being a group consecrated to God is a continuous scriptural theme. God never wanted to clean and unclean together. We are commanded to not be of the world, even though we have to be in the world. The biblical idea of separation from the world isn’t hard to find. We are separated unto God inwardly and outwardly, but the outwardly is visually for the world. It shows our modesty, our shamefacedness, our humility and safeguards our own integrity against would be fallen sinful man. I understand that most Christians have a problem with putting any rule on anything in the physical, I don’t understand where they get that from. I do believe it is a out of a fear of living under “Old Testament law.” As if there is only one Old Testament set of laws. The real problem with these people is that they try to apply the Old Testament TO the New Testament. Meaning they learn the New Testament, and anything mentioned in the Old Testament must measure up to the New. That is erroneous. Our foundation is and always will be the law and the prophets. That is what “scripture” is when mentioned in the New Testament. We have a foundation of Deuteronomy 6:4. That doesn’t change. It is set in stone, so to speak, that there was only One God of the Old Testament, and that will never change through out eternity. So when Jesus comes along in the New Testament, suddenly there are thousands of years of prophets, men and women of God, through all of the Old Testament that were lied to by GOD? Because the Old Testament says there is only One God. That same God proclaimed that HE alone is the savior and NO ONE is beside Him. But yet these people that say that in Genesis that God said “let US make man in OUR image” means that even from the beginning God and Jesus were teaming up and running things. So if God and Jesus (which by the way, it is killing me to even type that) made heave and earth and Jesus sits at the right hand of God physically, then what did God mean when he said he is God alone, and beside him is no savior? That did God mean when he said Hear O Israel, the Lord our God is One Lord?

YOU HAVE TO APPLY THE NEW TESTAMENT TO THE OLD. Not vice versa. You need a foundation in Old Testament scripture to even understand what happened at Calvary. You need to know why there even was a savior born to a virgin. All of that is from the Old Testament. The need for a spotless sacrifice and Jesus Christ being the sacrificial lamb is completely weird and random if you don’t understand the LAW that you so claim we are trying to be saved by. I mean, it just gets comical.

I told someone the other day, you won’t find a Jew or Rabbi on this planet that would tell you that anything in the Old Testament even insinuated plurality in persons of the Godhead. And he said, “I don’t care what a Rabbi has to say, they aren’t even saved.”

That’s all I needed to know that this was a person that has only cherry picked New Testament scriptures, that without an understanding of who God is via the Old Testament (which He is that same God, sorry to break it to you) make no sense to someone. I can understand when a Christian, wrongly guided in the Bible, can see a scripture that says both the words God and Jesus, or Father and Son, or God the Father of Jesus Christ” can be confusing without the knowledge of the Old Testament. But getting them to see that is almost impossible and I have to just leave it alone.

Anyway, I am rambling. I feel like I made my point in there somewhere.

Btw, this is why I don’t wear a WWJD bracelet or any other jewelry for that matter. The manner of conversation, the manner of separation from the word, is what we adorn ourselves in, not worldly trinkets and superstition.

Love, love, love, and ecumenicalism.

There is a huge wave of concerning mindsets going through the Church right now. I know some people would say, “Well that’s not the True Church then” but they still are a part of the True Church as of right now. But they are trying to bring in some things that just aren’t right. We are parading singers on platforms that literally sing with people who are in false doctrine. We have new “standards’ being pushed by a younger generation, because we all know that the younger generations can always justify what was previously taught not to do. Everyone wants to give everyone a chance and love them to death, but in all reality, they plummet them further into the abyss.

We recently, and I mean 2 years ago, had to make a horrendously difficult decision and uncomfortable at best. Our church (pastor) without any direction or counsel from the church decided that he wanted to go a different doctrinal way. That’s fine with me, but I won’t be able to do that. In an effort to grow the church, he decided to “error” (his own words) on the side of grace than to preach Truth. First off, you are erroring. It’s “err” on the side of caution. But scripture doesn’t back that up. Scripture tells us to be vigilant, to be holy, to be set apart, to preach the Truth, with doctrine, which is profitable for reproof (disapproval), correction, and instruction in righteousness (right living according to God.) That brings up an interesting point.

Many people equate self righteousness to standards. We dress and act a certain way because we are self righteous, which couldn’t be further from the truth. I mean, there are always going to be those ones that think they are better than everyone else because of what they look like or have, but as a group, no. But in all reality, turning your back on standards literally is self righteousness. You think you know how to live right according to your self, not God.

Women on the platform in pants, short hair, makeup and ear rings, while us congregants are trying to teach our children to live right. I could go into detail on the entire situation which would blow your mind, but I digress. We had to leave and find a new church that taught the truth, that wasn’t embarrassed or ashamed to preach it over the pulpit. We found that church and have been there 2 years. But we have watched others who were what we thought sold out to the Truth, stay in that church (although most left) and backslide with them. It’s heartbreaking really.

“This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men. But avoid foolish questions, and genealogies, and contentions, and strivings about the law; for they are unprofitable and vain. A man that is an heretick after the first and second admonition reject; knowing that he that is such is subverted, and sinneth, being condemned of himself.”

Titus 3:8-11

This is where the title comes in. Love. What is love? The dictionary says its deep feelings of affection. There are some other definitions, for this cause, this is the one I chose.

We all have a desire to care, most of us anyway. Well, we all should. But what is true Biblical love? Biblical love is what doctrine is about. Biblical love is sacrificial (John 3:16) demands obedience (John 5:3). What Biblical love isn’t is sloppy agape or greasy grace. So when we come to someone to bring them the truth, and they reject it 2 or 3 times, they are a heretic. That’s what the Bible says. Grace comes in with what God decides to do after we tell them the truth. And we can deliver salvation to someone with grace, I am not advocating anyone being ugly. But sometimes the Truth doesn’t look pretty to someone who feels convicted. Flesh rears its ugly head and they become defensive, but that’s a different situation.

“Be ye not unequally yoked together with unbelievers: for what fellowship hath righteousness with unrighteousness? and what communion hath light with darkness? And what concord hath Christ with Belial? or what part hath he that believeth with an infidel? And what agreement hath the temple of God with idols? for ye are the temple of the living God; as God hath said, I will dwell in them, and walk in them; and I will be their God, and they shall be my people. Wherefore Come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, And touch not the unclean thing; And I will receive you, And will be a Father unto you, And ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

2 Corinthians 6:14-18

I don’t know how you can read this and still have sloppy agape and love for people who do not live according to the Bible. Now, don’t get me wrong, we love everyone. We witness to everyone and we want to bring everyone to the knowledge of Christ. But there is a major difference in loving someone to salvation and love them in their sin. What happens when you love someone in their sin? I am glad you asked.

“Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonour their own bodies between themselves: who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshipped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed for ever. Amen. For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature: and likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompence of their error which was meet. And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient; being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, without understanding, covenantbreakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful: who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.”

Romans 1:24-32

The point of the above verse is that last line. These people who do these things are worthy of death, and those who take pleasure in them as well. That means if you enable sin, you are guilty of it. No one wants to hear things like this anymore. The world has infiltrated the Church so much that if you feel this way or voice it, you are accused of being a bad Christian. I didn’t write the Book, I just try to live by it as best as I can.

My precious pastors wife told me that Bro. T. W. Barnes said that the political world is a reflection of the spiritual world. GOD HELP US. But it’s true. I see it. I see the BLM, feministic, love what is bad and shun what is good mentality so much. I have interactions with people who claim to be in the Truth, on Apostolic platforms that call me a zealot or a Pharisee. You can call me whatever you want, but I only know one thing, Jesus Christ and Him crucified.

Many Scars

Life is insane. I told my wife the other day that I thought that the older you get the weirder life gets. I think back at things over the past 5 to 10 years and things are just odd. Things happen to people you would never guess it would happen to. People die you thought would be around forever. You think you know someone and you don’t. This list goes on.

Back Pain

This all started when my wife and I moved back from the hurricane ravaged Panama City. I had started a grooming shop in the local town we had settled into, and she was given a job as a manager at a local department store. At first, it wasn’t too bad. But she came home every day complaining of back pain. It grew worse and worse, and we chocked it up to standing on concrete all day and a pulled muscle. She went through some agonizing pain to which she wasn’t even able to move, and eventually it got better.

Doctors, and more doctors

One day, about 3 months ago, she went to the doctors and her doctor ordered physical therapy due to some upper back pain and shoulder pain. She went to about 5 or 6 sessions only to realize that it was making the pain worse, and per her physical therapist, she ceased physical therapy. After going back to the doctor, and getting a referral to a spine surgeon, many ER visits and debilitating pain, she finally received an MRI. When she went into the spine surgeon’s office, he informed her that her issues were not bulging discs pressing on nerves as they thought. He told her that there are two kinds of nerve issues: surgical and disease. And she didn’t have the surgical kind of nerve issues. He informed her later that it is definitely disease. Disease. DISEASE.

He told her that she is showing symptoms to a couple different neurological diseases, one including multiple sclerosis. Up until this point, our lives were pretty normal. This changed a lot.

Over the next couple days, my wife dives into studying the disease. Not WebMD or Wikipedia, but the actual MS Society’s webpage and first hand accounts with people with MS. The surgeon seemed more convinced that it was MS than the other diseases, but it takes a battery of tests and MRI’s to actually determine that, so we were gearing up for our journey through this together.

Emotions

To say we were emotional is an understatement. The day she came back from the doctor, she wasn’t really too informative on what he had said. She didn’t want me to worry. I understand that and don’t fault her at all. She did let me know very gently. At first I wasn’t too cognitive of the severity of the situation. I was just kind of stunned and wandering in my thoughts. What did this mean? Will my wife be paralyzed? It wasn’t until the next day that it really hit me. My wife is really good at hiding her emotions from me, especially in instances like this. She only does it so I don’t get more sad or worry. I understand that. But I wasn’t able to hide it. We cried. We prayed. We accepted what God had allowed as our journey, knowing that He would do something through this. What it is, I don’t know. But with out sickness, how can you know He is a healer.

Cliché

Before we ever told a single person, I told my wife that I knew it would happen. Granted it usually comes out of the kindness of someone’s heart, but it’s kind of like when someone dies, people try to say the right thing, and after a while, it just gets annoying or old. Now, where this hits with me is doctrine. Go figure, eh? The first thing that was said when I told someone about this situation was: “Don’t claim it!” Now, I do understand the intentions, but I know that nothing comes to me if it hasn’t went through the hands of God first. We aren’t guaranteed physical spontaneous healing. I believe God heals that way. I also believe He uses things to bring people back to God and to show Himself through our weakness.

Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in necessities, in persecutions, in distresses for Christ’s sake: for when I am weak, then am I strong. 2 Corinthians 12:10

This verse doesn’t say that my infirmities are automatically taken away. It says that in those infirmities, I take pleasure, because when I am weak God is strong. It goes with that whole denying yourself thing. NO narrative of any Scripture is about us getting the glory. It is all about His glory.

If any man speak, let him speak as the oracles of God; if any man minister, let him do it as of the ability which God giveth: that God in all things may be glorified through Jesus Christ, to whom be praise and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Beloved, think it not strange concerning the fiery trial which is to try you, as though some strange thing happened unto you:

But rejoice, inasmuch as ye are partakers of Christ’s sufferings; that, when his glory shall be revealed, ye may be glad also with exceeding joy. 1 Peter 4:11-13

This should go without explanation. But again, people forget these verses exist I guess. A self-absorbed doctrine would forget they exist.

I do get afraid that my adamancy against name it and claim it/blab it and grab it will come off as faithless. Nay nay. I believe that God is a healer. I know He can heal my wife. I know He will heal my wife, but until that healing comes, this is where we are. Consider the following:

And Jesus went with him; and much people followed him, and thronged him.

And a certain woman, which had an issue of blood twelve years,

And had suffered many things of many physicians, and had spent all that she had, and was nothing bettered, but rather grew worse

She had the issue of blood for 12 years! But her situation made her desperate. How many lessons in 12 years did she learn about life, herself, and God. I am assuming she had some sort of faith in order to seek out the Messiah for healing.

When she had heard of Jesus, came in the press behind, and touched his garment.

For she said, If I may touch but his clothes, I shall be whole.

And straightway the fountain of her blood was dried up; and she felt in her body that she was healed of that plague. Mark 5:25-29

She sought out Jesus Christ. She went searching for her Healer, and said if I can but touch his clothes! Her faith in God is what healed her. We have faith. God is going to do something.

Where the road leads

Where will the road lead us from here? I do not know. We haven’t gotten an official diagnosis yet, but soon, October 21, we will know if it is for sure MS. I titled this “Many Scars” because multiple sclerosis translates to many scars. The scars form on your brain and spine and are called lesions. From the MRI’s she has many on her spine and one on her brain. This would lend to the primary progressive multiple sclerosis, being the worst. But I do believe God is going to do something. What, when and where, I do not know. But whatever it may be, I know that it is only going to bring glory to His Name. We are adjusting to the way life is with this at the moment, but with treatment, have the hope that some things will be easier to live with and do. But until then, we pray. We pray and pray.
